Biography
Jay Acovone (born August 20, 1955) is an American actor who was born in Mahopac, New York as the son of a dry-cleaning business owners.

Acovone starred in various movies during the 2000s and also appeared in several television series including Beauty and the Beast and Hollywood Beat. He also appeared as Charles Kawalsky in season 1, 2, 3 and 8 of Stargate SG-1. He can be seen playing the officer pulling over the TX Terminator in Terminator 3.

He appeared in Criminal Minds, guest-starring as Detective Morrison of the Palm Beach Police Department who enlists the BAU's help in capturing a bomber in the episode, Won't Get Fooled Again. He also appeared in an episode of Friends. Acovono also starred in Guy Magar's independent mafia film, Lookin' Italian (1994) in which he played the part of Vincenzo 'Vinny' Pallazzo, a retired gangster who has to go back to the crime business when his own nephew is mixed up in a gang war.

Jay guest starred in three episodes of Sliders.

Jay played Skip Lee in the film Cruising (1980).

Jay guest starred as a Casino owner with unconfirmed Mafia connections in a 2012 episode of The Mentalist entitled 'Pink Champagne on Ice', alongside fellow Stargate actor Christopher Judge.

In Independence Day, he played a guard who at first denies Will Smith's character entrance to Area 51.

In 2011, he appeared on the How I Met Your Mother episode "Field Trip", and in 2013 he plays agent Gibbs' barber in NCIS episode "Prime Suspect".

Jay also appeared in at least three episodes of The X-Files, first in "Demons" as Detective Joe Curtis (Season 4, 1997). Later, he portrayed Duffy Haskell in "Per Manum" and "Essence" (Season 8, 2001).
